How We Handle Tax Matters

- IRS employees get gold stars for closing files. Our job is to help the IRS employee close our client's file with the minimum costs to our client, taking into consideration any tax, interest, or penalty that might be imposed on our client as well as the fees to be incurred by the client for our services and associated expenses.
- We cannot control the auditor, but we can control the audit.
- We are prepared to proceed to trial but we make every effort to resolve our client's dispute with the IRS at the lowest possible level of administrative review.
- We will provide the IRS with whatever it is entitled to by law but all other items will require a quid pro quo from the government.
- We act professionally in all dealings with the IRS and we treat all IRS employees as professionals. However, we do not assume that the IRS representative is correct as to his or her belief of the current status or interpretation of the law.
- We maintain a high level of credibility with the IRS. We don't bluff and we don't represent clients who seek our services merely to delay the inevitable.
- We believe that it is absolutely essential that we be familiar with the rules governing the behavior of IRS employees and we assume that the IRS employee handling our client's matter is not aware of such rules, especially those that may be beneficial
to our client.
- We assume that what we knew yesterday is not necessarily valid today, and we spend time each day reviewing new developments about the law and trends of tax practice and procedure.
- We believe that it is important to know WHY we are doing something as well as knowing HOW to do it.
